All street rods have one thing in common, there’s an engine that makes them go, but after that general statement
all bets are off. These days it seems like there is no such thing as a typical engine.

One of the trends is the use of what are referred to as vintage engines. That trend certainly seems to be alive
and well. You may be noticing along with all the more expected engines from yester-year, are a surprising
number of what were best described as “vintage” small-block Chevys. Hard to believe the first series of the
venerable V-8 now falls into that old time engine category. A surprising number of them are topped by three
two-barrel carburetors.

But it really doesn’t make much difference if a mild-mannered four-cylinder or a blown big-block make your car
street rod go, just as long as you enjoy the ride!
